Your fundamentally wrong about the herbal petrol (fuel) process. We can
make hydrocarbons from the CO2 in air and the hydrogen in water. We've
been doing it for a hundred years!
The key process is called the Sabatier Reaction and has been known
from the 1800's. The industrial version of the process is a two step
reaction with electrolysis used to produce hydrogen and that hydrogen is
that combined with CO2 on a nickel graphite catalyst to produce methane
the simplest hydrocarbon. A second similar reaction produces ethane,
propane, pentane and on up to petrol. We've been doing this in test
tubes for about 50 years.
We have known for decades that plant cells can make H+, free
hydrogen. Plant enzymes can bind and split CO2. Its fundamental to
photosynthesis. We also know that plants can create other similar
catalysts to the nickel graphite surface. Splitting hydrogen from water
or Carbon from CO2 requires less energy than splitting Nitrogen atoms
form N2. Plants do that using a complex catalyst containing several
metal atoms.
We have known for years how to extract live enzymes and to use them
in industrial processes and cleaning agents. Go look at the laundry
detergents in a supermarket. Bio-prospectors have been in the same game
as Mr. Ramar Pillai for years: discovering, extracting and
commercializing plant enzymes and drugs (the same thing). what Ramar has
reported so far is fully consistent with a plant enzyme that does the
sabatier reaction in hot water. It will have significant implications
for the fuel industry but I believe the biggest impact will be in
spacecraft life support. If it produces free oxygen in the process it
could strip CO2 from the stale air of the space craft and make it fresh
again.
Ramah needs to talk to some aerospace life support people not the people
in the Indian energy agencies. Every one seems to have totally failed to
do the simple step of calling in an enzyme specialist.
Even the things that have gone wrong in demonstrations of the
process are fully consistent with a enzymatic process.
