Unto the lotus feet of Saiva servitors and sages !

We have to our great credit an epic in TAMIL called “Thiruthondar Puranam” (God-owned servitors‘ hagiography)  authored by Saint Sekkizhar defying any  parallel to it. The quint-essence of the same can be justifiably categorised as follows ::

ü     All are of same caste and there is Almighty none more than one.

ü     Before God all are equal.

ü     No sovereignty to male neither to the female just so. Men are on par with Women.

ü     No religion without ideals of Tamil sages.

ü     Nothing there is as society without Religion.

ü     All religions are in one.

ü     Work is worship; there ends everyone’s ambition.

ü     To serve people is to serve the Almighty.

ü     Northing there is as service without discipline.

ü     Comes God of Himself greeting to the sincere servitors without invocations.

A great saying of Saint Appar goes as “Paththu kolaam Adiyavar seikai” (Ten are the activities of real servitors). In effect, it declares the ten tenets advocated as above by Saint Sekkizhar in succinct.

These tenets advanced by the sekkizhar in the light of Divine Tamil culture is the fountain of any civilization world over. In due reverence, therefore, to the Saint Sekkizhar, Sixth International sekkizhar conference is, by providence, proposed to be held at Tiruttani, one of the six abodes of Lord Muruga in Tamil Nadu.

Saint Sekkizhar commences his great epic with words “Ulagelam” ( World Over ). It is in keeping with his great world – encompassing character that a conference about him is to be well represented by people from entire cross section of the world.

We therefore request heartily one and all that are of interest to participating in the conference and in order append herewith the intended application form. Already, we are pleased to inform, that persons more than thousand have indicated their eagerness to us for participation in the conference.
