Bisi Bele Bhat
To prepare Bisi bele bhat

Raw Rice | 250 gms |
Lenthils
or Masur Dhal or Thoor Dhal |
250 gms |
Water | 1000 ml |
Red
Chilli and Coriander Seeds powder(Dry) |
30-40 gms |
Powdered Salt | 3 tablespoon |
Ginger | 1/2 cm smashed |
Garlic | 3-4
cloves (finely chopped) |
Mustard Seeds | 1 teaspoon |
Cloves | 2-3 nos |
Cinnamon | 4-5 nos |
Aniseeds | 1/2 teaspoon |
Coriander Leaves | One
handful (finely chopped) |
Curry leaves | 5-6 leaves |
Ghee | 150 gms |
Cashewnuts | 10-15 Nos |
Cooking Oil | 1/2 cup |
Vegetables | |
Sambar Onion | 10-15 Nos |
Tomato | 1 No |
Drumstick | 1-2 Nos |
Brinjal | 3-4 Nos |
Potato | 2-3 Nos vertically cut |
Peas | 20-25 Nos |
Method |
Soak Rice for about an hour. Cook Rice and Lenthils with a pinch of turmeric powder and 2 tablespoons of salt over a pressure cooker.
Boil potatoes, peas and keep it aside.Heat oil in a pan, add mustard and allow to spatter. Add cloves, cinnamon, aniseeds, Red Chilli and Coriander Seeds powder, curry leaves and fry it.
Add the vegetables one by one and fry it. Once it is cooked, add the cooked rice and lenthils mixture little by little and mix it well.
Don't smash it deeply. Fry cashewnuts in ghee and add. Sprinkle coriander leaves.
