Secure, virus-free messaging for your office network

(March 26, 2001) - PPP Infotech has released netMailshar 2.7 (http://www.netmailshar.com), a mail-server software for small and medium-scale businesses that provides email messaging, archiving, content scanning, virus protection and more importantly save bandwidth costs. netMailshar is also suited for networks using a router or any Internet sharing software. It supports all forms of Internet connectivity, be it dial-up, ADSL or cable modem. Typically, netMailshar is installed in a computer controlled by the department head or the system adminstrator and every email sent or received will be routed through this computer.

Regulate email usage and improve productivity

Some companies allow their employees to use web-based mail accounts like Hotmail or Yahoo. However, such systems don't provide any facility to monitor or regulate proper use of email and only consume excess bandwidth. Using netMailshar one can drastically cut down the usage of Internet bandwidth.

netMailshar is one of the few software products offering generic virus protection against email-based viruses without depending on traditional virus scanners. netMailshar has a powerful content scanning engine to check your incoming emails for spam, viruses and offensive or confidential content. netMailshar has the ability to scan the content of all incoming mails. The department head can choose to 'quarantine' emails with certain content - keywords or phrases or attachments and decide if the mail should be forwarded to a particular user or not. If there is a matching keyword or phrase, netmailshar can also be instructed to delete such mails. netMailshar has several useful features like auto-dialing with advanced scheduling options, mail forwarding and auto responders.

The price of netMailshar ranges from US$49 (5 user) to $379 (unlimited users). netMailshar needs one PC running Windows95/98/NT/2000 for connecting to the Internet, but workstations in the network may be running any platform like Mac, OS/2 or Linux. "Some of our customers use netMailshar to provide email accounts to more than 300 desktops in their office with just one dial-up connection" says Parameshwar Babu, Director of PPP Infotech.
